Not at all. The program is designed for complete beginners. If you can breathe, you can do this. Many people with no background in meditation or yoga have found the Happiness Program to be the most impactful thing they have ever done for themselves.
No. The Art of Living Happiness Program is not a religious program and does not promote any particular faith. It is a practical workshop focused on breathing, meditation, and life skills. People of all backgrounds, faiths, and walks of life participate and benefit.
Please mention your health condition when you register. The breathing techniques are gentle and adaptable. We recommend consulting your doctor if you have serious cardiac or respiratory conditions. However, many participants with BP, diabetes, and lifestyle conditions have found significant benefit. Sree will personally guide you on suitability.
Sudarshan Kriya is a powerful rhythmic breathing technique developed by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. It is the centerpiece of the Happiness Program. Multiple clinical studies have shown its effectiveness in reducing stress, cortisol levels, and anxiety. I have practiced it every day for 27 years and credit it significantly for my health, energy, and happiness.
The daily practice after the program takes about 20–30 minutes in the morning. That is the only commitment. Most people who maintain this practice report it as the best 20 minutes of their day.
